Reiki Energy - Spiritual Healing
Written human communication is based on symbols, whether letters or numbers. On a far deeper and more encompassing level, the symbolic representation of visual images is our most powerful, meaningful and visceral agent of communication. A picture truly is worth a thousand words. Just as material things are limited by the scope and nature of their physicality, similarly numbers and letters are limited, not the least by their vulnerability to misinterpretation, faulty manipulation, or multiple interpretation. Not so with symbols as images. Such images are the universal, subconscious and powerful agents of communicating deepest and most complex meaning, throughout the ages.
I was guided to design my logo to incorporate various such levels of information. It is designed to trigger memories of knowledge which serve to remind us of our Divine nature, and therefore, too, our affinity for and rightful use of the gift of Reiki energy.
The cross is a very ancient symbol, greatly pre-dating its popular use in Christianity. This equal-armed cross is the “backbone” of the logo, and symbolizes the intersection of the physical realm in which we live (the horizontal arm) with the realm of Spirit, our Source (the vertical arm). At the point of intersection can be seen a depicted burst of energy which occurs at that point of interface.
From that burst of energy is generated the star, a symbol of Man, rendered in an indigo blue. This is a color associated with a number of important concepts, including the color of our sixth chakra (energy center) or “third eye” as well as the ever-and totally-present power of Divinity, in turn metaphysically represented in the color (and nature) of water and sky.
The golden starburst backing the star symbolizes the loving power and intelligence of our life-giving Sun, which supports us and channels and dispenses the golden light mentioned in world spiritual traditions down the ages.
It is my hope and intent in designing this logo that it will serve to remind us all of Who and What we truly are. In the words of Reiki and other spiritual healing traditions, "We are not physical beings having spiritual experiences. We are Spiritual Beings having physical experiences."
